Guess what? I've been offered another job (well an interview) as an IT trainer. This is just silly. I'm hoping that by getting moderately drunk I may be able to figure out what I'm going to do. Off into Manchester tonight with some friends.
Wish me luck. ;D

Oh geeze well to be in your position. heh I'm kind of in a jobs stink mood right now. I hate the one I have and need to get another one. I'm kind of through working for large companies or dealing with the public and handling complaints for now. I want something easier. I'll probably settle since I generally do, but it would be nice to get a job I actually like. What a concept. lol

Best of luck HeWhoWatches.
Do you fancy the training side?
I taught evening classes in Visual Basic for about four years and enjoyed every minute of it. I also did training in Database design for companies and found that much more painful.
I think the difference was that the people doing VB had decided that that was what they wanted to do rather than going down to the pub. While the ones who were on the database course had been told by the Company that that was what they would learn.

Damn right, I'm through with being everyone else's monkey boy! ;D I decided to take the PLC engineers job as its something I really enjoy. So I start on Monday. Now all I need to do is learn to drive. I was tempted by the IT training job, but it wasn't definite like the other two were, they just wanted to interview me. I think what put me off was exactly what you describe above - if people want to learn it'd be fun, but if they were being forced to, that'd suck chop. Still, there's nothing wrong with going down the pub (aside from the fact I did that last night, didn't go to bed 'til 6, woke up at 11 - an hour and a half late to meet with my new boss, and it's 24 hours later and I still have a hangover located mainly in my right eye. Ouch.)

Congrats on the job HeWhoWatches! I'm unemployed as of now but I think I'm going to help out my dad strip and paint airplanes. (the small ones not the airline jets) Once I finish up school I'm hoping to get some sort of computer programming job.

It's all good, though the travelling's pretty rough going (Thanks for asking!).... (Re) learning a lot of stuff, and have a long list of stuff to do tomorrow. But I like a challenge.

HWW's been really very quiet. I guess that job is getting you to bed early and up at crack 'o dawn? I still want to know about the girls you've met by falling asleep on their shoulders!

It's all those long train journeys and driving lessons taking their toll.
