Mebyon, that MSND performance you saw sounded very interesting - you should have p(l)uck(ed) up a bit more "courage" and really tried to get to the bottom of it all! In the film I was referring two, whereas the two young lovers were't so scantily attired, they were nevertheless cycling around in the forest on bicyles (but I'm sure Shakespeare wasn't turning in his grave!) Bravo, while I'm not really into Star Wars (think I saw one of the 5 - or is it 6? - but I couldn't get "hooked" and haven't seen any of the others) I agree with your Mel Brooks assessment - he's almost an Americanized latter-day version of John Cleese. "Space Balls" (although no masterpiece) certainly packed humour - that magnificent "one-liner"! Cali, you're right about " commercialization". Why only sell "one" DVD collection, when you can sell 4? - 1, 2, 3, 1+2+3. These guys have perfected the art of extricating the money from one's pocket!

Speaking of extricating money...most of the fast food places here let you "Super Size" it for an extra 50...so basically you sepnd more money to give yourself a heart attack faster...
oldie-very nice sig! ;D
...still, LOTR was a huge gamble...(have you seen any of P. Jackson's previous films? ); but the actors pulled through and are now making the big money...though it's now out of their hands and Miramax (isn't that it?...also "wing nut films") is making HUGE profits out of it...
Though sandbagger has said that it would have been even more spectacular had they done the Silmarion....(big battles...with dragons and balrogs); my favorite movies so far are:
1) The Empire Strikes Back (come on, a SSD, ATATs and Boba Fett...and YODA!!!) 2) The Two Towers (ROTK almost made it but TT was accomplished quite nicely...as I found the book quite boring, but the movie was not - well only the part of the book referring to the drudge through the wastes...)

For those of you who don't know, "Raistlin" is the name Bravo 1 uses when not logged in (aka at school and can only capture a fleeting moment... ); Cali knows...and I think most of you can recognize my style of writing, so guests...don't even try to impersonate me...

Yeah, I figured there was something in common between Raistlin & Bravo! But can't you use "Bravo" as a guest? Occasionally I've wanted to post something and not had the time to log in, but I've managed to get away with "Oldie" as a guest. The comment about "extra size burgers" is most apt. On the motorway rest-areas in the UK, you can never buy a "cup" of coffee - it's always a "pot" of coffee containing 3 "cup-fulls". This is great when you're a party of 3, but on your own, you not only end up paying twice as much, but you leave (waste) half of it. It's bad enough forking out the extra cash unnecessarily, but I loath it when food & bev get wasted, with so many starving people around the world. I know my wasted bit of coffee wouldn't be any good to a poor kid in Ethiopia, but it's the principle!

The name? Well, I *could* (actually if I tried "Bravo 1" it would say this is already a user...but I could do Bravo, Bravo_1 or Bravo 1); but:
1- it's a refrence to Dragonlance....kind of an inside joke with Cali
2- if someone did try to impersonate me with my logged in name that would be quite funny!
3- not everyone knows who I am...(yet again...oh the amusement)
4- it's fun!
(yes, I am an oddball... ;D)

BIG NEWS! Swedish elk steals bicycleThe couple were expecting a visit from an elk A hungry elk already known to raid rose bushes has stolen a bicycle from a garden in Sweden. Bjoern and Monica Helamb, of Vuoggatjalme, said the elk had regularly visited their garden to eat their roses over the last decade. Fed up with the intrusion, and blooming destruction, the couple decided to take action. They placed a bicycle in front of the flowers as their front line of defence. "We thought we would at least protect our favourite roses from her appetite by making it harder for her to get to them," Bojern Helamb told the Associated Press. But their efforts were to no avail. ChaseThe elk, dubbed Droopy Ear, leaned through the bike frame to get to the roses and ate away as usual. "Then she disappeared, with the bike hanging around her neck," Mr Helamb said. The couple found the bicycle about 500 metres (1,640 feet) from the house, bent and damaged beyond repair. Following the bicycle incident last week, the Helambs employed a different tactic when Droopy Ear made a return visit over the weekend: they chased her away themselves. That's funny. I have one i saw on a program a long time ago called when animals fight back or something. There was a father and son who were poaching pheasants. They shot one and returned to the car to make their escape and put the pheasant in the boot with the gun. Unfortunately the pheasant wasn't quite dead and they hadn't put the safety on, as the father walked round the car the pheasant came round and started moving about in the boot triggering the gun which shot a bullet out the side of the car into his leg ;D Needless to say they got caught and justice was served by the courts and the pheasant

Ok guys, I'm the one making the "Last Updated Topic" slot keep on being "Important Message for New Members!;"
I know it may be frustrating, but I will keep it up for a while as I need to make sure all the lurkers/guests all READ IT; this will be of no problem to registered users as the lil' blue dots appear on a board that has a new post that you have not read!
...so I'll probably stop "bumping*" that by the end of this week...though it may continue over the weekend; Monday at the latest!
*bumping=I am merely making a reply and then deletng it, thus not at all raising my post count (for more than a second) but making that the "Last Updated Topic"
...sorry for any inconvenience!
