Well you all may as well know I was banned from that fool place. Funny thing is, I'm still not exactly sure why and was never told other than getting some generic message when I tried to log in about being banned for posting "inflammatory messages or spamming".

Now I know I have posted my share of flames, but funny thing is I really was trying to hold back and be civil even to jerks recently. The thread in question I threw a couple of slightly short or snippy comments out there but hardly what I'd call a flame.

As it turns out I was trying to have a bit of a discussion/debate and some kid chimed in and tried to annoy me really obvious like 'bla bla I'm trying to annoy you!' and even admited as such as he was bored. I just replied that he would have to come up with something more well thought out and intelligent than that to push my buttons and get my goat (that's the type of snippy comment I was talking about, I hardly call that a flame ).

Another poster kept replying back to him with smartass one liners trying to get the last word on him. Since I knew this person a little bit I pmed this person and said just ignore him and he'll go away and find someone else to bug. Well this person sees fit to call me out on the public forum and say "Motoki why are you pming me?" I didn't want to reply publicy which is why I pmed said person, but after that I just replied that this kid was trying to annoy us and we should just ignore him. Said person then said I should not reprimand him/her that he/she does not like it. I then said fine, play tag last word you're it all night then, I'm going to bed, which I did. (again snide or snippy perhaps but hardly what I would consider a flame unless they banned me for spamming because I told others not to spam )

I woke up to find I was banned. This was Saturday night this went down and then Sunday morning when I found this out. Note that I was never given an explanation and Tegger got rid of a whole bunch of replies in that thread, included some very good IMO intelligent discussion between myself and several others, and replaced it with some short post with same lame excuse about sorry about getting rid of the good replies too, that's how the software works.

I was really mad and angry about the whole thing yesterday. I know they had given me warnings before (some of which were questionable IMO) but at least I knew what the hell they were for and what I did. I must say this time I am stumped. It could be the exchange with those two I posted above, but I thought I showed restraint. Also she cut out the replies long before that exchange with my very first post in that thread which was a discussion and I swear I can see absolutely nothing inflammatory about it. Actually, she moved all replies after my initial one to the Mod forum where I am sure she put some kind of spin on it and she and several others there have been looking for any excuse to get rid of me quite frankly anyhow.

I am, naturally, somewhat Morrowinded and very damned near reformatted my whole computer without backing up a damned thing yesterday. Yet again I feel guilty because I owe someone something though. This time it was those clothing textures that Lizardo/Mooner did which really are quite awesome. So I tried to take my mind off things (which is why I wasn't here yesterday) went out for a bit, rented a couple of DVDs (one of which didn't work ) and then tried to physique the elf ass for the underwear meshes for Lizardo's clothing mod.

I also checked out some other games. I'd really like to find some other games to create mods for as a change of pace. I hear Gothic II has a modding/developer kit now...but it's in German.

I saw that EA released a sort of Sneak Peek at The Sims 2 by releasing The Sims 2 Body shop where you can create a Sim in high res 3D (none of that tiny itsy bitsy stuff heh)

Heh I came up with this, sort of an almost Anime version of me.



With the Body Shop right now you can't edit or make new meshes yet, but you can retexture (The textures are bmps). Apparently when the Sims 2 is due out later this year (Septmeber) you will be able to make meshes with Maya. Can't these game companies use a 3D program that's freeware or shareware? Sheesh. Heh.

Anyhow, I don't know how much help I will be with MW, my motivation to do stuff for it is pretty low right now, and no offense meant to any of the rest of you guys, you're all good friends, but none of you organize things and get me motivated and feeling like this mod really IS going to come out like Oldie did.

I really wonder if I shouldn't just give up MW, banned from Canadian Ice's place, Banned Twice from the ES Forum, kicked out of the Better Clothes forum and just generally snickered at and had snide and smartass comments thrown my way via Neuman. Heh Maybe it's time I move onto something else or at least stop modding, but I think I am too antsy and have been by the creative mod to not create something for some game.

Perhaps it's not such a bad thing Motoki, you will be well out of all the pettiness and crap that comes with that forum, it will probably do your stress levels the world of good ;D

I don't know what it is about oldie but your right he does make everybody feel more motivated, he's just good at giving us a kick up the backside when we need it, i obviously just don't kick hard enough

I don't think they should have done it without an explanation though, plus like you say there are many who just can't wait to have a go at you whether you have done anything or not

Believe me Motoki this mod will come out, i know half the time it doesn't seem that way but we are trying so i hope your not giving up on us

Firstly I NEVER go on the elder scrolls website except when google leads me there... It seems that a great many people are very immature and that really puts me off the place. Note I said immature, not young - if you want a great example of a younger person who acts maturely, look no further than our own Bravo...

So let me echo that reply - You're best off away from that place. Any place which causes you stress in fact.

Secondly, I like your anime-stylie image... very cool.

So, sincere commiserations Motoki... if I were you I'd take a leave of absence before returning to modding, especially if you're thinking of quitting completely. Make some time for yourself - the most stressful thing in life is other people in my experience!

I have done my share of getting aggravated this week, and frankly with the pressure and impending events in RL that are coming about in a couple of weeks, I too have lost a LOT of motivation; so I sat back, took a break and decided screw MAX, I'm gonna try a different approach and am now planning on learning dialogue and scripting and taking a laid back approach to modding by making some mods for myself;

Frankly MO, I have never spent much time at esf (heh, look at my post count, most ppl ignore me because I have under 100 posts) but quite frankly, I think that if a person acts like that, then heh, why bother...

...anyway, I've been through this entire process in real-time online gaming (Jedi Academy) and there flames could go on for hours if an admin was not around;

...but what I mean to get at is that if the actions of a group of ppl anger you, or if they do not explain themselves, hang out with another group of ppl; we all like you here and though things sometimes get tense when modding, it all comes out nicely in the end. So, take a break, make a new char, play around...or if you have an X-box, Gamecube or something play that a bit...

...take a few days off, and then take a fresh approach; after coming so far, it would be a shame to give up now!

Bravo: I guess, I'm not sure a break is enough as I have so many negative associations of Morrowind in my mind now thanks to ESF and PSD. I don't mind chatting with you guys but frankly I'm starting to be suspicious of being on anyone else's board period as it just puts me at someone else's mercy

I'd make my own board but I don't even have the energy to try and persuade people to come to yet another board and I don't even know that I care enough.

Now Rob I know you will say I am welcome here, but it isn't my place and will never be my place. I think at this point I'd prefer IM, but several of you annoyingly are not on it.

Bleh I don't know what to think or feel. I'm in an apartment that's hot as hell and have no air conditioning and that isn't helping matters either.

...go out, take a walk breathe in some air; with time you *could* potentially be one of us, i mean I recall you being here for *quite* a while...and frankly speaking, I dunno, I like this place, it's peaceful (apart from the rare moments when things might escalate for a little bit); MO, you'll always be a special friend to us and I can speak for us all saying that we would really miss you if you left;

I try not to think about modding all the time, I try to not think much at all these days...but heh, pds and esf are warzones, to put it lightly, do veterans look back on Vietnam and say..."Oh, those were the days"

Looks like I missed all the fun again...

Despite the number of 'useless' and pointless threads, despite the flames, the childishness and the sheer bad attitude of certain people, despite trigger-happy moderators who have no idea how to pour cold water on a fire to put it out, I find myself sticking with the official forums simply because it's the single most reliable place to go to find the latest on new mods. And since that's what I'm on the lookout for, that's where I remain.

Unfortunately separating the wheat from the chaff becomes harder every day, and I find myself ignoring more and more threads, concentrating only on those [WIP] and [REL] threads, or checking up on threads by posters whose opinions I value (which, unsurprisingly, includes you guys ).

Sad to see MO banned (again?) as his sometimes volatile insights were, in my opinion, a refreshing change to the 'make me an uber-TC mod' style attitude of some of the less mature aspects of the official forums. So much for free speech

On a happier note, glad to see you've discovered Sims 2, MO! I got the body shop a couple of weeks ago and can't stop tinkering with it, though I'm getting more and more impatient for the release of the damn game! ;D

(And on a more personal happier note, my contract's just been extended to November, which keeps the wolves from the door and TheLys site up and running for a few more months )
