That's an odd bug.......apologies for the bad pun ;D
I've found this game does some very strange things at times, you say it's a light in their inventory, does it have to be dark before it comes on like the guards bringing out their torches?

Might it have something to do with AI? my slider's set high up but I still see guars levitating when I walk about, even when I'm quite close. I think it's my slowish PC. Sometimes my companions 'forget' to take out their lanterns when we enter a cave, because of the CPU load. I doubt you'd get that with your 'beast' ;D

well I think I know what the problem is as the number of instances of lights was only 7 when I had 121 instances of fireflys so that may explain the weirdness just got to figure out why that happened.
Anyway I had a good idea. Basically to populate the game with these little critters will obviously take a long time so I thought I would preovide all of you, my beta testers with the base esp, and allow you each to populate a different area in Morrowind, The Bitter Coast grazelands etc. but of course the problem here is what mods and expansions you have running. I need individuals with morrowind only dedicated installs to help keep them clean.
this way you can chock an area full of them and then test it on your system. otherwise it will take me awhile to get around to all the areas where I think they should be.
What do you all think?

I'll try Balmora as I've got Balmora Expanded plus MW Official Addons and it slows the machine down to snail's pace anyway. Let's see what your bugs do to my fps?

From what I've seen of fireflies here, they favour warmish stony areas with a bit of vegetation, but in my Spotter's guide to Insects it says they like grasslands, light woods, hillsides and damp places. Everywhere but Red Mountain and the ashlands, then Just thought you might want to know that

I think it would be a bit too cold up in Solstheim but they'd love it in Mournhold I wouldn't have thought you'd find them close to the coast as the winds would be too strong and the air too salty. This should cut the CS work down a bit ;D That still leaves about 30 % of Vvardenfell to populate.

well I still think the bitter coast is ideal and that is a pretty big area so ...yikes 30% that would take me a looonngg time alone.

Makes you appreciate the time Kagz must put into placing all those animals in his mods

Piratelord from the ES forums has given me a script that will spawn more fireflys based on one instance. So that the one instance can check for weather and time...pretty cool script going to try it hopefully later. saves me time trying to refresh my learning of scripting

I got the slow vid card (ATI 7200) and I'm not noticing a difference in the areas with fireflies between no mods and this mod so it shouldn't be a problem for anyone. I tried all the areas you mention in the readme file.
In your readme you mentioned you the script "tv_firefly_script02" wasn't working correctly. What's not working with it for you? I attached it to firefly2 (the flying ones, whatever the id was) and it worked perfectly for me. Also no noticeable difference in frame rate. I changed the weather with the console to foggy (2), entered a cave and came back out immediately to allow the fog to roll in. The fireflies were still there as the gamehour hadn't changed yet so I just watched and sure enough as soon as the game hour changed the fireflies disabled themselves like they were supposed to.
Is there any other specific testing you'd like done? I'll be playing with it some more, very cool mod. Think I'll add some near my butterflies.

Good to hear...olet me guess you have Tribunal installed.
So I know now for sure it is some broken things in the original Morrowind so I will put a disclaimer in the read me regarding this.
Thanks BGX

I have Tribunal and Bloodmoon installed but I didn't have either of them activated when I was testing the mod. Should that make a difference even if I wasn't running them?
