Dissing? You misunderstand me, iPods are great but a bit wasted on them as they don't have enough music to fill it. I do, and if I could afford one I'd be down the shops tomorrow! For us cool studs with enough music though.... The best bit is that I'm not actually paying for my iPod. You see, I was given a 5 gig iPod because one of my moms friends had gotten one of them RIGHT before they came out with larger versions. He has about 30 gigs of music, so he decided to upgrade right away. That iPod was then stolen from my school locker, but becuase it was stolen within 90 days of being bought, the credit card company payed for it. It took them about 6 months to finally send the god damn check, but it arrived this weekend. Instead of having a 5 gig iPod, I get a 15 gig!

One thing you might like to remember... [historical note] Ghetto \Ghet"to\, n. A quarter of a city where Jews live in greatest numbers.
-----------------
Ghetto \Ghet"to\, n. [It.] The Jews'quarter in an Italian town or city.
I went to the Ghetto, where the Jews dwell. --Evelyn. [/historical note]

You might want to add this: mp3gain.sourceforge.net/From help fileMP3Gain analyzes mp3 files to determine how loud they sound to the human ear. It can then adjust the mp3 files so that they all have the same loudness without any quality loss. This way, you don't have to keep reaching for the volume dial on your mp3 player every time it switches to a new song.

It just does MP3s I'm afraid, what about using NERO or something to normalize them?

Normalize? ...what's that?
...I *could* convert them to mp3s with soundforge, but bringing them back would...well...produce a loss in quality...

Normalize is just getting the volume the same on all the tracks. Whan you burn a music CD in Nero it offers you the option to 'normalize'. I thought that you could burn to an image file then mount it as a virtual CD and copy the wavs back.

I've found a much better solution, CDex, which can be found at cdexos.sourceforge.net/Can rip, normalize, re-encode any which way you want. (I recently used it to encode new ring tones for my mobile phone )

Frustrated with windows' "You don't need to know what's going on" attitude? Sick of finding new icons in your system tray that never even asked for? Wished you could still type commands? Have a look at Mike Lin's home Page and be the master of your OS ;D For free.
