Poor soul! Both of you! ;D
Have they got a reason or is it just that they're a pain in the proverbials?
I knew one once who worked in a photographic dark-room all on his own. He had very pale skin and res rimmed eyes and acted like he hated everybody. If you said, "Good morning Ed." He'd reply, naturally, "Wot's bl**dy good about it?" I spent two years being unfailingly good natured with him just to see if it was possible to get him to behave like a normal human being, (and also to get my photographs developed for free!). By the end of that time I was 'his friend'. One day he came into my office, sat on the corner of my desk and complained, "I don't know what's got into people these days, they're so bl**dy miserable!" ;D

No reason as such, she just delights in telling me all this depressing stuff she's heard about the state of the world. Some people can only see the bad stuff i suppose, i like to look for the good things myself

So. No TV, no newpapers, no radio?
It's ALL bad news currently. But of course it doesn't make for good conversation. Maybe the poor old duck has nothing else in her life?
It's pretty amazing the way we deal with the evils that we hear about. Ruanda, Al-quaeda, American gung-ho, Tamil Tigers (again)........ I suspect that, if we didn't shut most of the cr*p out we'd all be walking around like depressed zombies!

I missed this before. They're lovely are they near your house then? I actually came to this thread to mention something i just read at the esforum, somebody was talking about doing a personal stereo mod. Is it just me or do some people not get the idea of fantasy based worlds We all have different ideas of how we want our game to be but i still like to stay within the realms of the original game myself.

LOL ;D The mind boggles!
Oh yes, orchids. Just up the road from us. They're actually called Monkey Orchids as each flower looks like a little man. This place is covered in orchids of all sorts. The Portuguese have realised that there's no point in trying to dig up the bulbs and take 'em home as the plant only grows if there's the right kind of bacteria living in the soil. The Brits never worked that out which is why people have to stand guard over them when they appear in Wales!

;D Yes that's a bit flatter than here. We have got some minor hills in places.

I would have to go across the border to see decent hills. We only have some minor altitude shiftings in a very regional area.

As this is most definitely the most 'off topic' off topic thread in the multiverse I'm happy to enquire......
Umrahel, are those windmills still working? Weren't they used to pump sea water out of the polders or something?

I have no idea if those mills still work really. I think a lot of all the current mills still do work though. They're often used to pump water out of canals and into smaller ones and vice versa when needed.
