I think this is the first (and probably only) time I'll bring a forum back on topic ;D AVATARS: Why is my animated puppy of doom only 7Kb, whereas Mebyon's dashingly handsome static is 9Kb, and smaller? And I won't even mention Bravo's, which is impossibly, 36Kb I won't accept any explanations claiming that my superlative knowledge and skill are responsible. Well maybe just the one ;D

What file type is yours? maybe it just gives better compression

Mine's a GIF, Mebyon's and Bravo's are JPGs and so is yours. And I used animation shop which is possibly the worst GIF optimisation program I know of. Sometimes when I scale anims down by half, the file size increases

Both Mebyon and mine (and probably Cali too) are 24 bits per pixel; yours is only 8 bits per pixel...
...so 7 x 3 = 21, which is *probably* what yours would come out to be; also, the amount of different colors also contributes to the overall size, but bpp is a lot more relevant to it...
