If you need a bunch of good links to software (that is, FREE software) check out my website which is under construction. Eventually, it will feature screenshots and reviews of high quality freeware, not just the links that are there at the moment. I try out all software first and routinely scan them for spyware or adware with Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. The website address is: members.lycos.co.uk/perceptualmotion

I would highly recommend the program Irfanview as a useful FREE picture viewing/editing program... www.irfanview.com/

Perhaps the widest used free music storing/organizing/playing program is iTunes. You can find it here. It is for both mac and windows.

I just got an email from winzip inviting me to upgade to version 9.0. I get a free upgrade as a registered user ;D
Here's what's new.
--- New WinZip 9.0 ---
Improvements in WinZip 9.0 concentrate on its core functionality: compression, capacity, and a new, advanced data-encryption capability.
WinZip's new encryption capabilities, included at no extra charge, support 128- and 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption for state-of-the-art data security. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) selected AES as the standard for both governmental and private data encryption. WinZip's implementation of AES encryption is FIPS-197 certified by NIST.
Other enhancements include support for 64-bit extensions to the Zip file format, which eliminate all practical restrictions on Zip file capacity, and support for the "enhanced deflate" compression method, which compresses data better than ever. --------------------------------------------------------------------
Complete gibberish to me but there you go i never claimed to be a genius.

Thanks for the greeting. Another excellent free app called wiretap can be found here. Basically, it is like a digital tape recorder. It is only for mac 10.2 and later. I don't know if any of the other five people on these forums use macs, I mean, after all macs only control about 3.5% of the computer market, but it is a very usefull aplication. One of my friends (a big windows guru) won't download iTunes, even though it is the best music storing program for free on the web. I supose it is because it was designed by Apple .

Problem with adding a new title is that people lose their stars. Please read the new post in the Announcements section, as this will fully explain the situation!

Another neat piece of software is OmniWeb. Again, I get the feeling that, because it is mac only I am preaching to a statue garden, but it a very nice piece of software. The other OmniGroup products are also good. like OmniDictionary.

It's all good stuff... for instance, I don't have a mac, but my sister and brother-in-law do. The more I know, the more I can tell them. They've got an ipod the jammy b*stards.

Dissing? You misunderstand me, iPods are great but a bit wasted on them as they don't have enough music to fill it. I do, and if I could afford one I'd be down the shops tomorrow!
