Totally my dreams are often really vivid. The other day i dreamt i was laying on the bed when a hand shot out from under it and grabbed my ankle. Needless to say i woke up real fast

HWW, I know what you mean...I've had dreams that really hurt...but I usually don't dream, but when I do, it's usually about something that could have been, but did not happen... ...and it's quite odd, even during the weekends, I still wake up at 6 o'clock sharp...

'Fraid I don't dream much, but then I don't sleep much (lengthy stretches of not being awake). But that "ankle-grabbing" dream of Cali's is unhealthy - sounds like Mr Krüger been paying you a visit, but apparently you don't watch too many movies, etc. Could come from the books you're reading! And, with this, I'm off to go and try to do some dreaming!

I'm glad it's not just me!
I've had really good dreams where I can feel good sensations (DON'T even think about it!) like flying, and really twisted, warped dreams that just scare me. My brain is weird.

Well, for me it's like "Yay! I'm happy, happy, happy...having fun....relaxing" ...and then you feel yourself slipping away mentally, and you wake up, and you feel absolutely abysmal!

I shall tell you something really bizzare now. When i was a about 12 i started having a reccuring dream that i was sat in the back of a car going down this hill near where i lived. Nobody was driving the car it was just me in the back. My sister was standing at the side of the road and as soon as i saw her i just knew i was going to crash, so i tried to climb into the front to stop the car but i never got there in time. I would always wake up just as the car would crash. This went on for years and after passing my test it got more frequent. Until eventually i was having this dream almost every night one week. At the end of that week we were going to a concert at wembley and i was on my way to pick my sister up when at the end of that very hill i crashed the car. There was a pickup truck in front of me and he went to turn in the garage, well i braked but unknown to me, or my dad who'd bought the car for me only three months earlier, the grip had worn away on the brake pedal and my shoes had very smooth soles, my foot slipped off the brake and i went up the back of the truck. I have never had that dream again since So believe me if another one like that starts up i'm going to be worried As for the monster under the bed you may be right oldie, i'm currently reading the war of souls dragonlance books and it's all ghosts Edit: After writing all this earlier today i suddenly realised it's May 13th which means it's exactly 14 years today since i had that accident

Wow, Cali. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm such a "sceptical scientist", I'd say there was something to that car dream. Btw, I assume it was Mr Krüger who pops out from under the beds of young women when "darkness falls over Elm Street"?
Dreaming's weird. I doubt whether I've had more than half-a-doz "nightmares" in my whole life (and they all occured the first time round when I did A-Levels - that's British University entrance examinations - and didn't get good grades). But after eventually "going to college" and starting out in life, they never recurred. Don't think any of my dreams have been all that really "great" either (so that one regrets waking up - must be because I've always lookked forward to "waking" up [OK, I'll steer clear of that topic, today - but thanks for the "compliments" Bravo. Btw, I was surprised to learn you're American - I always had you down as a Brit, for some reason or other!])

Cali, you're scaring me. That is one weird story.
Like Oldie, I tend towards scientific explanations - but there's a part of me that knows that we aren't nearly advanced enough scientifically to explain everything. There are some things that we just can't explain, and we probably shouldn't try.
Has anyone ever seen a program called 'Most Haunted'? It has this "medium" called Derek Acora. He must be the least believable pyschic I've ever seen, but he's a great showman. And a scowser. (For the non-Brits, person from Liverpool, esp. with strong regional accent).
I always wondered why they had night vision cameras on that show but not thermal optic cameras, which would have been far more entertaining. Then I realised it'd probably disprove everything Mr. Acora said.
If you've never seen the show, it's on satellite tv (UK Living channel). Watch it. You'll either be a complete believer or laugh your arse off.
I've started to remember dreams more frequently now, which is a new thing. It's different because if you know what you've been doing / thinking about / been worried about the day before you have a good chance of interpreting them. Which is sometimes scarier than the dream.
[Sniff, sniff, cough... bloody cold. Any chance that someone has a cold remedy?]

I never try to interpret them, because in my opinion, it's just a figment of my imagination... odlie: I'm actually NOT an American citizen (have yet to apply), but I have lived here 2/3 of my life...*pats on back* it's OK, MO is an Elder too... [well, we have some pretty strong stuff from Romania, heal me up in a day usually...but I don't think I could get any to you.... ]

Sorry for freaking you out there but it's true. It's definitely the most prominent time that sort of thing has happened but there have been other times when i've just known stuff. Both times my sister was pregnant i knew the sex of the baby before she did. First time i was adamant it was a girl right form the start and i was right. Then second time i just knew it was a boy, i told her and when she had her scan they asked the sex. She phoned me that night and just said "you were right" Can't seem to get the lottery numbers though

Never had the opportunity to see "Most Haunted" HWW - sounds good fun. Bravo's right about stuff for colds from his homeland! All round that southern part of Europe they "brew" these "brandies" that are excellent in their own right, and make superb "hot toddies". The different countries give them different names, and they usually tend to be made from plums or prunes. Sorry I can't get any to you either (here in Switzerland they make a "schnapps", the specialties being from either cherries, pears (the William variety) or quince. The latter's my favourite. And Cali - now we know why you're playing the role of "sweet witch" in the murder mystery. Have you ever tried doing any fortune-telling (and getting paid for it?) - sounds as if it could prove to be quite a lucrative business for you!

Yes, we do have plum brandy, called tuica by us (with a lil , under the T); but I actually prefer kirshwasser (German Cherry Brandy), which I've been told is used more for cooking;
Actually, the remedy is just a pill "Paracetamol" which is white, and tastes bad, but if you swallow it fast enough it's not bad; anway, because of those I have never had a cold over 3 days... ;D

Calislahn's nightmare reminded me of something that happened to me as a little kid. I had a nightmare, and woke up. I got out of bed and went down the hall (in the dark) to my parents' room. I had to cross the living room to get there and something reached out from under my dad's armchair and grabbed my leg! I fell to the floor, screamed, kicked my way free of the Thing In The Dark, and ran the rest of the way! The next morning, it turned out that the Thing which grabbed me was my sister's jumprope, which she had not put away, and which had gotten tangled around the leg of my dad's chair, becoming an impromptu snare! By the way, Calislahn: nice ankles! (*Crawls back under Calislahn's bed*) Muahaha! Pleasant dreams!
