*higgles* Thom (my husband) buys the computer stuff and Im the one always updating our furniture. I love new furniture, its just so nice. Especially the rustic styles *drools* or very bright retro/new age stuff. Makes me swoon. laaa! there is no ikea in new zealand *cries* there is one in Aussie, but I want it to come heeeerrree! Humph. Sometimes I miss america. Its all small things, but nothing like good cheap furniture that looks good when you're a person who likes to change the house around as much as they change their underwear (which believe it or not, is EVERYDAY! *Cough*) I'll shut up now.

Never thought about Ikea's furniture in the way you've just described it, Kayleena, but you're right (and even their TV ads here point in that direction) - turning furniture into a "fashion accessory" - inexpensive enough to be able to get rid of after a while and replace with something new - analogous to what Swatch did with their watch (turning it from being "just" a timepiece, into a fashion accessory so it would always "match" your dress - if you're a woman).
Btw, my lil sister's just moved from Switzerland to NZ (I always pull her leg that there's nowhere further for her to go on this Globe to get away from me - lol). She'll be missing Ikea as an avid user of their stuff while she lived over here. Anyway, that's one line of items she'll not be receiving as a Christmas present from me. ;D
