Did it again last night. Driving home, stuck at the traffic lights by Tesco, I thought 'I'll just nip in and have a look'. Mock if you will, but I ended up with another 2 CDs (Blink 182's latest offering and Avril Lavigne's new CD). One of these days I'm going to learn that Tesco can be driven *past* and not *into*... Right now:
In Extremo - Herr Mannelig (now there's a good medieval song with hardrock attitude!)
Moloko - Things to Make and Do (very good "shard" as we say here...)
My all time favourite when surfing and modding:
The Star of the County Down (irish diddley-doo, but cool and also a feature of my mod)

Well of course it depends on my mood and the moment.
But currently what's is my cd-rom drive is Wagner (excerpt from the ring, with the libretto) which I swap now and then with a Maria Callas collection, as well as the soundtrack to "Callas Forever".
I see Vivaldi got a few votes here. I like that too.

I was considering tidying up my desk this morning (fatal mistake - there's almost three years worth of junk piled up here!) and came across a couple of CDs I had forgotten about.... Debussy's Pelleas et Melisande, and Wagner's Tristan und Isolde. I might treat myself to some opera tonight... ;D

Personally, I have too much choice! When you're an ex-student, after living with friends that share cds you end up with an mp3 collection that takes up a significant part of your hard disk. Suffice to say I've never really needed to use filesharing programs!
I've got two mp3 players - and old 32mb (+2 x 16mb memory cards) that I recently resurrected after it had long since died - and a cd/mp3 player which is extremely economical as you can just burn a cd of mp3s when you need to. About £200 cheaper than a hard disk mp3 player and you get a ready made backup of your songs if the worst should happen...
I prefer fast, loud music as I haven't taken my driving test yet and I primarily use the players when I'm walking and it helps me not get bored. My musical tastes range through nearly everything: rock, dance / electronic, some pop (not much recent stuff though), ska, classical, alternative, etc, etc.
On the once-dead mp3 player I found:
Motorhead (!), Metallica, The Pixies, Marilyn Manson, Pitchshifter, Silverchair, Limp Bizkit (yes I am a kid at heart!), Sex Pistols and Offspring.
Bear in mind this player hadn't been used for about two years and it still had all the tracks on. Good stuff.
Currently I'm listening to: Nirvana (Unplugged), David Bowie, Lenny Kravitz, Jimi Hendrix, Orbital and The Specials.
Probably more information than you needed or wanted but there you go. You asked, I answered. ;D

Good idea Just be sure not to listen to large quantities of loud fast music after you've passed your driving test though, cos it tends to add about 10-15mph to your default driving speed

...it tends to add about 10-15mph to your default driving speed ...and what's wrong with that? ...speaking of driving (use IE): www.knplogic.co.uk/are_u_mad.html/url]...how's that for a cruising song?

Hmm. What is it with those guys? Why go to all the trouble of buying a naff car and fitting it with rally seats, a stereo the size of the boot (trunk for Americans), fluorescent downlighters and tinted windows when you could just spend that money on a better car?! All the extras probably cost more than the car does! That and the fact that they then decide to go 'cruising' (aka driving round in circles wasting petrol) with the bass turned up so much it causes all nearby houses to vibrate. I just don't see the point. Anyone?

Possiblity part of the "showing off" factor for those who don't know how to express themselves in a more appropriate way...

And don't forget the straight-through exhaust big enough to stick your head in - that's mandatory! It'll gain them, ohhh, about another 0.5bhp probably! :laugh4:

Not to mention the lowered suspension that wrecks the bottom of the car every time they go over speed bumps! Oops, kind of Just out of curiosity though, a friend of mine (from Nottingham) refers to boy racers as 'Kevs' - wondered if any of our uk members had heard this term before?

Go here: chavscum.co.ukKev related stuff, excellent site - especially for all the non-British members who may be slightly confused as to what we've been talking about here. 'How to spot a chav' is probably what you want to read. Laughed my ass off... :laugh4:
