RA just heard yours, I like them as well. Where are you from, can't quite place the accent. Seems mostly American but maybe just a little English?

Motoki beat me to it (!). Your voice, despite the slight "touch of a cold" sounded fine, RA. I was going to place you around Boston, with an accent as "posh" as that. (At least you can't be any further east - but is it much further west?)
I'll be downloading yours to take a listen to, Solar.

Audacity looks like a great prog, recording quality seems a lot greater than what default progs I had.
Won't fix my lame English and mic shyness thought ;D

Appart from the "nude" reaction they're not the sort of sound bits needed for the mod I'm afraid, as I just took some of her dialog lines, and unless I'm mistaken voices are used only for the character's reactions when idle or otherwise not engaged in dialogue ?

Still need to check out Bravo, Solar & Caty. Anyway, RA, you can't be too far south (ie Deep South) because you "aint got the draawll"! How many miles are you from Ft Lauderdale?

I've, rather stupidly, offered to do the Bravo voice! First stab tonight when the ISP gets bogged down.
Sneery, cold, upper class, all round baddy. Sound right? ;D

LOL, actually, Lochnarus, I don't know much about sound at all, but I'm learning fast. I am, however, an electrical engineer.... Thanks for all the samples, folks! I'm still hearing a few crazy exploding consonants (I'm sure there's a technical term for this, but I don't know it ;D ), but other than that, I think these will be great. As for what to actually record, Motoki suggested some generic greetings that pertain to the story, that sort of thing. If, once the dialogue is written, you want to record more, that is certainly do-able, but the writers of the mod will have to actually write the dialogue first! It's nice to see such and enthusiastic group of modders.

This is a question for Lochnarus and/or Skydiver. Bravo1 is from Romania, Transylvania area to be exact and I really want to see if he could do some dialogue with a Transylvanian accent for Carnithus. Thing is he's young (15 I think?) so well I am not sure he can do a convincing adult dracula-esque count voice. The accent yes, but we don't want him sounding like teenage Dracula hahah. I know Lochnarus deepened the voice on the Orcs. If Bravo can get us some test samples can something similar be done to make him sound older? I hope so.

Well, I got into the lab, but my voice was a tad quiet (kinda hard when the security guards is breathing down your neck); but I will email them to you MO when I get home (I can't host them myslef...sorry); also note that I have been speaking English for about 9-10 years...so it's a tad hard, but here's a though, I could see if my step-dad has a mike (he's got a really strong accent) and maybe have him record some... ;D; worst case we can amplify mine...and anyway, I think to be convincing I'd need some lines to say!
Talk to you all when I get home...

haha that would be cool if your stepdad could do it. If we ever need someone with a very heavy Sicilian accent I got get my dad to do some lol. But yeah we'll give yours a shot. Stop speaking so much English. LOL just kidding.

Sorry I took so long to reply on this one... Yeah, you could drop Carnithus' voice, depending on how deep it is originally, you'd only need to drop it about 2-4 semitones (half-steps/keys on a piano, etc) to get it about right. I used GoldWave to batch process the Orcs all at once, it would be better to do Carnithus' voice files individually since there wont be as many. oh, btw the "exploding consonants" sound is called popping. and a good tool to stop it is a pop filter- a round screen that hooks onto the mic stand and goes between your face and the mic. You can make one out of panty hose (two layers) and some kind of frame- cardboard works, you can just hold it up in front of you. EDIT: hehe, I know you boys will be sneaking panty hose out of your moms dresser drwaers without getting caught...lol
