I used that thing once when our band was recording in a home studio... never went into the trouble of making myself one, tho...

Who would have thought I would gain so much practical knowledge from modding?!
LOL!

That panty hose suggestion was really for the females here, lol. I can see you guys buying panty hose now, hahaha.
It works, trust my poor ass. hehe. I've used so many "tricks" to get many different things to sound professional (many involve duct tape, hehe).
Duct taping a microphone to a shower head and standing in the shower stall to record vocals. Double-micing one voice to make it stereo-even triple micing. Ive even made a microphone out of wiring and an old speaker. lots of things you can do with your head ather than money... ;D

LOL, I learned while recording the all the Almalexia dialogue that the only way I could get it to sound acceptable to me (I'm anal) is to record it as far away from my computer as possible. So I'd hit "record", run across to my mic, say what I needed to (do you know how hard it is to say "Karstangz-Bcharn" without cracking up?), then run back across and hit stop. I think I lost some weight! And now I'm doing it again with Mehra Milo! I must be crazy.

LOL..well let me know what you think of the new tracks. Found a better clean up program. They are not perfect, but sound better than the original test files i did. I found i just use my headset in a quiet room, i get the best quality. Since my comps in a room with a door with no knob and no windows, its almost soundproof ;D

Kayleena - I can only imagine Sky Diver is waiting in expectation for your "Alchemist's Song"! You could even make it a duet with your husband and, if the rhyme I posted isn't to your liking, you could always try the "witches brew" lines from Macbeth!

Well, Motoki, we've got your head, so all we need now is the voice which goes with it! ;D

*falls over* We could kill gods with our singing voices. XXXXXD Nah, I can try the alchemists rhyme and the macbeth one too, I'll record some right now in fact. I just gotta get rid of my damn hybrid accent. Rar.

Oh wow. I missed this one! I don't know that I'll make a good Dark Elf, because while some people claim I have a sexy voice, I sound like a 15 year old when I play back my recordings. But it might be cool to be able to provide a voice. I'll try it out and see jsut how bad it sounds. LOL
Any ideas how a dark elf should sound? I mean besides the stock voice.

Hiya... I've been keeping a low profile with the Helios Keep mod as I don't want to ruin it for myself. I must be the only admin on the forum that knows practically nothing about it. Still I noticed what you were talking about and thought I'd throw in my two cents. Er.. pence as I'm British. 1) For decent free recording software go to here: audacity.sourceforge.net/ and pick up Audacity which has had a new stable version released on 8th May. 2) Anyone who thinks their voice is too high or low should mess around with pitch, reverb (GVerb on audacity), speed, equalization and high / low pass. Please stop me if I'm being incredibly obvious here - I'm just reeling off ideas. 3) If you get audacity, don't forget to get the mp3 encoder, help file and VST plugins enabler. I only just found out it does multi-tracking too... woohoo! I am very excited as to how this mod is going to work out... but I will be patient and not spoil the surprise. Hope you're enjoying the forum, and keep up the good work! HWW (Rob) PS. Any other freeware needs / questions, PM or email me. I know where the best free software for most things are, and I'm always happy to help.

Thanks for your most useful contribution, HeWhoWatches. Good to hear you haven't been "peeking" in too much at the Private Forum, so you won't have the plot spoiled for you.

I would have you know that we mods do not "peek;" I've only been there twice: 1st when I set it up, 2nd when someone said a few things behind my back (but that's behind us now); I highly doubt HWW has ever looked as he is an honorable man and he has been very busy of late anyway... ...and Cali and Meb are doing stuff so I don't think they are forbidden from going inside...

Well i did lurk but i stayed away from the plot thread, then Motoki gave me official permission to be there ;D
I couldn't help it that blue dot drives me nuts, i'd login there just to get rid of it.
