Well, I finally got round to doing some stuff with the flares. Didn't get time to do a really nice texture, but I'm sure you'll get the idea. I have put a zip file [flares.zip] with a (hopefully) playable demo & all the source files in this folder: members.lycos.co.uk/perceptualmotion/download/flares/I cannot do a direct link because lycos won't let me. Please read the design notes in the 3DS Max folder - this will explain my madness! Oh, nearly forgot, here's an image: Let me know what you think, hope you like them! ;D PS. The nudity is not gratuitousness, it's laziness! PPS. I know it's all a bit rough and ready - spent much of the day cursing because one of my two monitors has died, and the rest of it finding Deep Paint 3D. Which is excellent. PPPS. I have also gone two days without smoking. This beats my previous giving up times by about 46 hours. Praise be to the gods for nicotine gum....

Nice job HWW...I like them! We appreciate your efforts (and hang in there with the smoking, trust me, you'll be very happy you quite later on in life!)...
They look quite nice, and who cares, a little nudity here and there never hurts! (OMG...she has...BOOBS!...j/k)
PS- why the steel towershield?

Is that the same mesh you had before for your flares? They look, well, less flared.
Still good looking pants HWW. Thanks.

Those look great, i'm gonna try them later with a couple of the original ones that had slighltly flared bottoms. If it works i may show them to Neuman as another alternative mesh for the pants. Good luck with the ciggies, just keep telling yourself that the money your saving can go on the nice car your gonna get when you pass. ;D It feels good to be typing this, i thought i'd go mad yesterday as the power went off at 3.30 and never came back till gone 11pm. I was Soooooo bored and i was going to do a lot yesterday afternoon as well At least somebody was busy, i'm gonna get me some flares

Maybe we should call you 'Mebyon the Eagle-eyed'.... you are quite right, I had been using max 4.2 and chilliskinner to do the flares, but it all went terribly, terribly wrong and I lost the lot.
They probably aren't as flared as they were but I can always change that if need be.
Re: the steel tower shield; I was going to add various weapons and items, etc as the two NPCs are traders. However, couldn't be bothered and just gave them a tower shield and a mace for a bit of protection.
Of course, the biggest problem with the flared pants approach is that practically none of the boots like them (though I think shoes are ok) - the boots tend to poke out somewhere mid-calf. Oh well....

That won't matter if they become bc ones, they are cut into the segments like the original so the ankle should be replaced. I'm not sure how Neuman does this but that would solve that problem anyway.

That's very clever... well, that'd solve the problem all right. Just lost a huge rambling post so I'll have to try remember what I wrote.
Er, the not smoking is going very well, helped by copious amounts of tea. I'm glad that you think I will actually pass my test Cali (you said 'when', not 'if'), all encouragement much appreciated!
There are a few interesting things I would like to try with this new program Deep Paint 3D. It links in with 3DS Max, Photoshop, etc and allows you to paint textures directly onto your 3D model. Very cool. PM me for more info about this one.
So now I'm off to make a cup of tea, back in five...

I've started trying the flares with the original textures. The three i've done so far originally had a flared appearance. I think this looks so much better than straight legs. I shall show this to neuman if you don't mind. I didn't even need to adjust the texture, great job, your a

Well...I was going to ask that we NOT have flare on all of them...but do it on a more...balanced basis; I mean the rich (extravagant, exquisite) could have it but why would the poor (common, expensive) wear such? or the ashlanders? or the Solthseim Nords? But definatley put it on the exquisite and some extravagant!
Female pants - did Neuman make one yet? Cali, will you be making those too (well adjusting you pants)...?
Hang in there HWW! I have grand-parents who wish they quit years ago! Not to mention the amount of money per year they spend on them! Hold fast my friend...(Earl Grey right?...my favorite!)...DRINK THAT TEA!

I'm not putting it on all of them, only those that were already flared. Same as the gaiters, if neuman makes a new ankle i will use that on some as well. It's for variety i don't like them all the same either.
As for a female mesh, no he isn't making one he's just going to make the groin fit both.

they look really good, but they could look juat a bit better if you added a waist strap/belt to them, IMHO.
