ok I retectured 2 doors for my WIP "The Enchanted Isle" and I am wondering if you all could take a look and tell me what you think. keep in mind that this is my first attempt at using photoshop so please be brutally honest. I would rather that then have it look stupid cause no-one wanted to hurt my feelings. home.mchsi.com/~kasdar/ScreenShot6.jpghome.mchsi.com/~kasdar/Velothi-Door.jpg

Did you do the other textures as well? or is that from something else? I would say that the wood is maybe a tad too red perhaps a more oak like colour would go better, they look sort of like reinforced doors to me

the others are just basic relpace the square tga retextures. I thought that the darker color would be an interesting contrast to the white marble all throughout that building

I could do with shelves like that for all my books ;D It looks okay but obviously it's empty once it has some furniture and books and stuff i'm sure it will look much better, there's too much unbroken expanse of marble at present, but i can picture it all furnished and i'm sure it will look great then

That looks better, not so much white now. I like it it's very much like a library in one of those old english manor houses or something

Carnajo's mentioned things like that before, how the same texture gets used for various parts in a tile set, it is a shame you can't have everything different but most have the ceiling attached don't they Still it's coming along nicely, not bad for your first attempts

yes it is very annoying that they didnt make the ceiling and floor pieces use different textures.
I wonder if anyone could modify the mesh to take 2 textures one for the ceiling and one for the floor.

It could be done without much effort in Max. Either you could apply a different texture to the ceiling or just export them as two separate pieces. It doesn't require any physique or animation or any of that troublesome stuff so it really would not be that hard to do.

would you by anychance have max and be willing to make me a piece that has a different texture on the floor then the ceiling. I will retexture it myself so it doesnt matter the textures you use.

I set myself up for that one didn't I? If you can give me the exact name of the nif file in question I will see what I can do when I get some time.
