I've totally redone the perceptual motion website. It's not finished yet but I'd appreciate any feedback or contributions (e.g. tutorials, etc). The address is here: members.lycos.co.uk/perceptualmotion/Enjoy! Also, especially for Mebyon, I've done a quick and dirty recording tutorial (recording-tape-or-vinyl.pdf), which you can find at this address: members.lycos.co.uk/perceptualmotion/download/Am I good to you or what? ;D

I thought it was my eyes! ;D No, like the new background!
Thanks for the tutorial HWW. I checked my sound settings against those you showed but half that stuff doesn't appear with my C-Media setup. No worries as I've got that Polderdoodad software to do the recoeding bit, (it automatically splits the great long file into separate tracks for me!) Well, most times. I depends on the amount of background noise between tracks, which brings me to my question.....
Some of these LPs are seriously old, geriatric really! Is there a tool in Audacity that will find and eliminate the pops from the track? At the moment I'm working through each track, find the 'spat' sound and then zoom in to cut it out. Works a treat but takes an awful lot of time! I guess what I need is a sort of transient filter.
BTW thanks for the heads up on the new release of Audacity. Lots more buttons and effects to play with! ;D
Went to visit the new site. (At first I thought the new look was for this one!) Very cool, I've added it to my favourites. I assume, (hope), that this site will continue as before and that the new one will be more for your inestimable links?
