Hi there, this may be a bit stupid, but what extension do you save a file to make it a normal windows icon? Do you need a special program? Thanks...
(Cali- I emailed you back)

I just had a look and can't find anything that says what they are. Even in the help file it doesn't say. As some of the icons on my desktop are transparent so i would say they may be gif's or tga's.

Easy one this. Create an image 32x32 pixels (windows may also be able to use 64x64 or other similar ones, not sure but you can try!).
Now, add paint your icon or paste in a rescaled image, whichever you like.
Finally, save as a bmp file (and this is the clever bit) in explorer change the extension to ico. Hey presto, magic!

I thought it might (windows has a large icons setting in the effects section of display properties, so it made sense).
No problemo dude. Oh, and I changed Cali to full admin yesterday and forgot to do yours, so I've fixed that now (she was asking about the news fader which is in the admin section if you want to change it at any point).
My typing is rubbish today...

Also, I could do with some better names for the ranks on the board. Was going to use MW ones (currently based largely on the temple ranks) but I'm not sure. It's just a minor thing that's been bugging me. Particularly Reaper (which made sense when I was the only admin, but doesn't now!). Cali: it's on old trick, think I learnt it from a friend back in the days of windows 3.1. How things have changed since then.

Oh yeah, BTW, what do you do in photoshop to get the background transparent for the icon? I mean I have a 64x64, but I want most of the background transparent...

Well, it's apparently quite difficult and works differently under windows xp, so I have a better idea.... I feel a bit of freeware frenzy coming on.... Go to this site: www.snidesoft.comClick on products, then scroll down to SnIco Edit 1.5 and click where it says download. A new page loads and you will want to click on 2.0 final version. It's really easy to use, XP compatible and FREE (I love free software, it feels good to get something for nothing!) Have a play with the program and let me know how you get on. Oh, filesize is about 1.5mb so it's compact too.

It's all to do with alpha i think but as i don't have photoshop i can't help with that one. I only know PSP. Perhaps the free one is worth trying.
