...yes, I *think* that as long as questions get answered a bit off-topic-ness is alright:)
PS - about the dog, there's a romanian folktale about dogs with increasingly large eyes guarding stuff, the first has them the size of saucers, the next plates and the last...I forget, but something huge...anyway, the illustrations in that book remind me very much of your avatar...;D
PPS - How's the handling?

How's your ship going, Bravo ? I just realised that if you can't do transparency in MS3D, then you'll have to get the finished model into max to get your 'buffers' transparent Hope it stays together! PS. Fun in the dry, 'exciting' in the wet

Regan the textures, does the metal one go on all the handle bits and the other one on the round part? and it's the round part you want transparent yes?

...the ship? I'ts not going at all...nothing is really, I've just gotten some time together today after wading through a marathon of last minute projects teachers like to give out... Hmm, I don't think that'll be an issue, I'm gonna see if I can use the 'hide' button to hide the buffers...it works in MAX...

Ooooh, she's doing it ;D
Yes, thats right, the dwemer metal on the handle etc. (I can always NIFtexture it later) and the pastel colour on the round part, thats the part I want to be able to see through!

Hmm...Regan, know anyway to 'hide' a mesh permanently in MS? ...make it 'invisible' even when exported? (the hide button just hides it from view in MS...but it still exports that)

Sorry about that, I forgot to remove the dependencies. I've just looked in the CS . . . . . . Fantastic Thanks a lot Cali, looks just how I imagined. Bravo, I don't think hiding is a permanent thing, it just makes editing easier. I suspect it's another "make something transparent in Max" sort of thing

...nope, because Cali mentioned 'hiding' something when she made my lift mesh...hmm, I know, I'll inquire with Tocatta, he uses milkshape too and he tweaked the mesh to make it wider so the PC could fit (how kind of him, I ask for scripting help, he gives me a whole script AND redoes the elevator so that the PC fits on more conveniently...not saying Cali isn't kind! . ...anyway, progress will be made! ;D EDIT: Looked at his mesh, all the buffers are gone...so I think it's safe to remove them on this ship too...

You better not say i'm not kind after all the stuff i've helped you with...even you homework Was that lift too small then? i did wonder but as you wanted it exact to the sections on the pipe i had to shrink it a fair bit, and it wasn't a millemetre outside the edges I can't seem to stop being helpful, it's just in my nature but sometimes i think i should say no more

;D ...actually, it wasn't YOU Cali, it was MAX...one of my woes was that the importer/exporter sometime made meshes glitchy due to corrupted data...sadly it happened to that mesh! (it would flicker when you selected it the first each time you opened the CS). The fact that it was a bit akward to stand on was discovered by HIM once he tried his sript on it (which allows you to move around as the lift goes up because there's no optical illusion to maintain like in Pegas). ...but yes Cali, you're a very helpful soul too! Not to mention the amount of work you put into things when just one lone person sends you an email (...how many thimes has that happened now...lol! ). ...I wasn't trying to demean your work in the slightest; it's funny how MS seems to be better with statics while MAX is good for all that fancy stuff...but it seems to me that MS imports more reliably...
