Regan, in my case, I lucked out and mine was v1.2 already, but you might want to consider downloading the patch when/if you get the game...
Another great RTS (Real Time Strategy) is Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth. I bought it a bit ago and I must say, it combines Age of Mythology with Command and Conquer (and some others I've not played) VERY well. The campaign alone is worth the buy (though at $50, you might want to wait for it to drop a bit in price). Note that pirated versions do not work with multiplayer as you have to register with EA Games and provide your CD Key, however, LAN play and single player work fine with priacy (not condoning it! ...don't look at me that way proboards admin! ). If you like Age of Empires or stuff like that, this is defineatly worth looking in to; if anyone is interested in playing multiplayer with me, then feel free to PM me. I also have a mike and Teamspeak (freeware program, totally safe). So if anyone is interested, gimme a hoot...
Regan, good luck finding it...it's really fun and the level of detail they put into it is astounding...what's more (this has yet to work perfectly in my favor), the bridges that span the water DO go up and if you get lucky when the cops are on you, you can lose them real fast . Closest I've gotten to was managing to get the front wheels to the top, but it's really a matter of luck as even if you camp there, you have to go pretty fast to go up the incline...;D. Also, unlike many games, gas is a necessity, performance is hindered by damage (ie bullets to the engine), horsepower does matter (every try climbing a 45 degree incline in a model T Ford?) and weight is also a factor. Sadly, the game did not get the rights to the cars, so the names are a bit wierd (Ford = Bolt for example, Mercedes = Celeste, Caesar = Alfa Romeo), but guessing is fun and there are quite a few places online where you can find the whole list).
