I take it you've a passing interest in Star Wars (tm), then Bravo? Currently Playing:TES III, obviously.(TB+BM) GTA:Vice City with numerous mods (Fast cars & 80's music, just like real life ;D) Not much time for anything else, really. Have:Fallout is an all time favourite, generally play it once a year! UT & UT2003 good fun, but unrealEd is a real b***h! Black & White (Fr), animations are fantastic. Deus Ex (Fr) simply excellent The Longest Journey (myst for the simple?) Driver (Fr)(Good game, awful suspension) Age of Empires Gold(Fr)(Despite my loathing of Microsoft) MechWarrior 4 (Fr)(As AoE) Sokoban (Mark McIntyre) Populous (Amiga, emulated) Deluxe Paint II Enhanced (Well I think it's fun ) Dungeon Siege (Fr) Brilliant scenery, crap game. And lots of AGS (Adventure Game Studio) & RPGMaker games (because they're free, and not all bad) Arena & Daggerfall Otherwise I generally play the demos until I get bored and save myself money or buy a game I'm really going to enjoy. EDIT: Just seen your post, Cali. I, Err, downloaded *cough* Discworld but have yet to play it. Is it any good, funny, pythonesque?

I can't compete with these lists! Let's say I have a huge pile of games starting with text adventures like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Zork, through Black and White and out the other side with Uru! HHW's posting and my downloads concerning those old text games made me feel really homesick! "Arrr! Those were the days m'dears" Hey Regan, are there any specifically French games? We have a Portuguese platformish game here called Hugo. (Pronounced Hugu by the Portuguese). It's based on a childrens television game where the little tots would use their parent's phone bill to control Hugo sliding down mountains and the like. Never saw it in the UK so I assume it was home-made.

Discworld was quite fun, some of the puzzles took some working out but the cutscenes and stuff were very typical Pratchett. If you've read the books you'll enjoy the humour in the game, like granny weatherwax and her " i aint dead" sign or Foul Ole Ron and his smell Obviously with Eric Idle doing the voice of Rincewind it does have a bit of a python like charm.

Experience the games of DOS and experience true fun. P.P.P.P.P.S. I'll stop with the post scriptums now...

I forgot something. Does anybody remember the Atari ST game 'Hunter'? In full 3D, you could run around, cycle, drive, fly and 'boat', performing various missions. I spent wasted hours on that. Also R-Type, and Xenon 2 for the Amiga, and rather ashamed to admit, Teenage Queen. Ahem.
To answer your question Mebyon, there are a few specifically french games, usually featuring cartoon characters etc. When games were less commercial there were more french only productions, I played an ST game called 'La Belle Zhora', basically a short story with beautifully hand drawn illustrations, about an arab immigrant in suburban paris and her day to day life. Doesn't sound like much but it was really well written and produced. Can't imagine that nowadays.
As I'm sure you know, Syberia, Alone in the dark, Devil Inside and Amerzone are french made games, to name but a few.

I've played Alone in the Dark, my sister has it, quite good for it's time, the graphics look a little dodgy compared to what's about now. But i'm not bothered about graphics so much as how fun a game is to play, it can look really nasty but if it's fun i'll still play it I find games like that very short though, that's why i like TES games as they can go on forever if you want them too.

But that buggers me...being able to go on forever is fun, but being able to level forever is not... Having to go up against people at a much higher level than yourself, while you capped out at lvl 50 or 75 makes combat more strategic...*whipser*which I may be attempting to do *whisper*but it might not work...slate's looking over it when he gets the time...

"It's fun, but some missions literally take hours."
Tell me about...some of those levels have multiple steps, and if you mess up near the end, you have to start entirely over. I actually spent an afternoon trying to blow up the Death Star. Granted, I was flying a little too fast, and Wedge did have a tendency to crash into me if I ever slowed down (and he's invincible, so you're the only one who gets hurt). But I did gain the ability to fly through the Death Star at almost top speed. ;D
By the way, does anyone remember Spiderman or Superman for Atari? Or maybe they were for the other system, Coleco?

I never played much until I was at least ~11 as in communist Romania...there was no Atari or Sega...etc ...I *love* flying through Death Stars at breakneck speeds! ;D ...but I recall that the craft responded 'differently' in XWA than in the RS series. I think I'll grab my CD when I'm in Chicago over break...

We didn't exactly have those consoles for very long either...you see, my brothers got a little, er, violent when playing a certain Donkey Kong Jr. So my parents took it away and took it to the town hall dump one year. *sniff*

I just got my first console last year (Gamecube) and it was primarily just because RS was on it! ;D (most X-box games come out for PC...at least the ones I like; and my half-bro has a PS2, though I don't fancy those games much). Also, in the same game, a GC supported two bots more than a PS2 and two players more than a PS2 (at the same time, without hooking up more than one PS2).
